Day 06 – Your day, in great detail

My day was fairly boring.

0730 - wake up the family (this means dogs) go pee
0830 - wake up the husband [...]
0900 - begin work on chemical defense paper for chemical ecology course
1030 - eat breakfast (eggs and english muffins)
lots of work on paper, lots of peeing, lots of getting husband caught up on House: Season 6
1330 - eat lunch (grilled cheese with ramen)
lots of work on paper, lots of peeing, lots of getting husband caught up on House: Season 6
1730 - finish work on paper (If you're interested in Monarchs, Giant Swallowtails or Spanish flies)
1830 - eat dinner (pizza from the frozen food isle)

obviously the day is not quite done. but it won't be any more interesting. I need to get caught up on grading before going to bed tonight and prep for a lab with my Advanced Integrated Science kiddos tomorrow.

sorry for being so boring!

on an awesome note, one more week with kids/students and then i get an entire week off from them!!! i have NEVER been more excited to get a break from the kids before in my entire life. 5 days and counting!

  1. Goodness Meg, you're making me not want to go back to school. How much longer until you're done?

And a week off from your kids? How'd you manage that one? Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it :)

  2. Oh, Jess, this program has become a nightmare. I really enjoy my classes/subject matter - but my profs are kind of asinine.

I should finish Feb 2012, so about another year left; my fault for going part-time. Teaching full-time though left me without any other option on that one.

For some reason Kentucky is just weird in that they give everyone a Fall Break, similar to Spring Break. Apparently, my district used to have Fall Break be 2 wks long but they cut that out a few years ago. Who knows?!

I will be busy doing school work, finishing grades for the end of the 9 wks and designing a Professional Development short-course for our day of PD after Fall Break. On the one hand it is nice to have been singled out to create and put on a PD. But, on the other hand it means more work for me. We'll see!

  3. Yay Fall Break! I think a lot of districts are putting them in, now. Mine is in two weeks, and I'm also looking forward to it!

Hope you get all your grading and PD stuff done! It's pretty cool that you are doing that :) Does that mean most of the other teachers are not so good? lol... Not saying anything about you being less awesome, I've just never heard of a less-than-10-years-in-teacher doing stuff like that. Maybe I just work in districts with old people. lol <3

  4. i know what you mean, jenny! =P

I was a bit surprised to see my name on the "will you do this?" list myself. This school is seriously in the dumps (every other school in our district met AYP with 10+ point gains...except us, we had a 2 pt gain are behind on AYP and are not expected to meet AYP goals for 2014.....)

There's no money here for quality PD, which is probably why they've resorted to me haha! j/k
